We had such a wonderful time!
“We absolutely loved our stay! The beautiful fireplace in the cottage provides plenty of warmth and creates such a cozy atmosphere. The location is stunning, especially in the fall with the sweet chestnuts scattered across the grass. Everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained.”

When are the fall colors at their best in the Veluwe?
When are the fall colors at their best in the Veluwe?
The Veluwe usually shows off its most beautiful fall colors from mid-October to mid-November. During this time, the beech trees turn golden yellow and copper red, while the oak trees are the last to change color. How long this colorful display lasts depends on the weather: after a strong fall storm, the leaves can quickly end up on the ground. On a calm, misty morning, the Speulderbos forest and the tree gardens of Landgoed Schovenhorst are at their most magical.

Where are the best places to spot wildlife in November and December?
Where are the best places to spot wildlife in November and December?
Your best chance of spotting wildlife is in De Hoge Veluwe National Park, which has three wildlife observation points and five wildlife viewing areas. Animals are most active early in the morning and late in the afternoon. In November, the park is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry at 5:00 PM), and the sun sets between 4:30 and 5:00 PM, making dusk the perfect time to spot wildlife before closing. Bring binoculars, wear neutral colors, and most importantly, stay quiet. You can also often find signs of red deer and wild boar on the Stroese Heide, just a bike ride away from our park.
